Reliance Aerotech Services supports Marine Toys for Tots Program
Christmas Day will be a much happier occasion for needy children this year thanks to a donation from Reliance Aerotech Services to the Marine Toys for Tots Program. General Manager Ron Jordan presented a check today for $1,200 and a collection of new toys to Marine 1st Lt Patrick Lenihan and 2nd Lt John Gonzales of Naval Air Station Pensacola in lieu of sending a corporate Christmas card in 2008.
“It has been a challenging year for the aviation industry and, in times like these, it’s the children who remind us of what is truly important during the holiday season,” said Jordan in making the presentation. “We hope this donation will encourage other aviation companies to contribute to charities that support our young people over the holiday season.
The Marine Toys for Tots program was founded in 1991 by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve with the objective of helping needy children throughout the United States experience the joy of Christmas. The Marine Corps believes our children are one of our nation’s most valuable natural resources and that the program will motivate them to grow into responsible, productive, patriotic citizens and community leaders
Lt Colonel Len Anderson, the Pensacola Coordinator of the Marine Toys for Tots Program said: “The incredible support from Reliance Aerotech Services will help Toys for Tots in Pensacola provide a child in need some Christmas cheer. Without this support, the Pensacola area Toys for Tots could not have fulfilled its mission. It means a lot to not only the Marines involved, but the local children in need.”
